Lenore P.O.V.
Steering this wagon ever closer to Braila seemed to give me a sense of impending doom. I couldn't quite put my finger on what it was for sure, but there was definitely something that seemed a bit off about the whole thing. I don't know if it was because, other than the marching feet of the soldiers and the grumbles and growls from the night creatures, it was so quiet, or because the snow had barely let up over the past couple of days, or the fact that everyone seemed more restless than usual. Several of the soldiers had been switched out to clear the way for the wagons until we came to villages along our route. Those villages had been nearly completely destroyed thanks to the night creatures and our feeding on fresh blood. The overcast skies gave us our precious respite from direct sunlight and allowed us to make great progress when the snow didn't stop us in our tracks. Five days. Five long days of nothing but snow and grumbling.
"You seem restless, Lenore," Hector muttered from behind me. His chains had long since stopped rattling with the amount of ice that had accumulated on the metal. I had given him a bit of cloth to keep the bulk of the cold from his skin, still attempting to seem malevolent toward his plight as my lowly pet.
"I believe we all are, Hector," I responded. "This snow has slowed us much more than any of us wish to admit and boredom seems to creep up on all of us, making us much less considerate when we dine."
"Considerate?" I heard the scoff in his voice without having to turn and see his disapproving eyes. "You think drinking a town dry is considerate?"
"No. I never said that," I said on a sigh. "By less considerate I mean that we let them die slowly, force them to watch us kill their children first or simply rip out their throats rather than drink just to move onto the next to do the same thing."
"That's not being less considerate. That's just being the evil bitches you all really are. Nothing more, nothing less."
"This again, puppy?" I was really getting bored with him spewing out his condemnations every chance he got, but he was still necessary. "You lowered yourself to fuck this evil bitch, as you enjoy calling me, so what does that make you?"
"A complete fucking idiot being led by my cock toward an evil bitch in heat. Just like any puppy." His words amused me at first, but how he ended his statement pissed me off. I snarled and turned around before he could see and grasped his throat, squeezing tighter and tighter as I closed off his air supply.
"Yes. Just like a puppy," I began until a smirk drew my lips upward. "A puppy who wanders from owner to owner until he ended up in my mill to make us stronger."
"And you're pleased about being labeled an evil bitch in heat?" Hector managed to squeak out.
"Everyone needs to fuck from time to time. It's what makes us what we are," I said. I climbed over the seat and leaned up close to his shaking body, whether it was from the cold or from fear I didn't know nor care.
"You, on the other hand, have no reason to be so up on your pedestal, Forgemaster. I saw you as a means to an end. A way to further both Carmilla's and my goals. I saw a pathetic little boy who would do anything for a sweet and some praise. So, yes, I opened my legs to you. You, on the other hand, jumped at the chance to dip your cock inside me and give yourself to me, pledge yourself to me because you got to pump your hips for a few minutes. I think that makes you the bitch in heat, or at least more so than me, so you would do well to remember who sold more to whom." I released his throat and threw him to the side, his head smashing against the wall of the wagon. Between that and the loss of air from the choking, he passed out and collapsed, his chained wrists keeping him from moving more than a few inches from where he'd been.
