Reader P.O.V."This is actually a great time for the two of you to change out of your clothes into yourvtravel outfits," Lisa said.
"Travel?" Adrian asked. "Where are we traveling to?"
"You didn't think you guys were going to have a wedding without a honeymoon, did ya?" Leo asked. I was shocked as this was the first time I was hearing about it.
"But we have no idea where we're going," I said. "I don't have a thing packed for a trip, don't have my wallet with me, no passport...nothing."
"Don't worry about that," Vlad said. "Go get yourselves cleaned up and changed so we can get the real party started." After that I didn't ask any further questions because I knew it'd be fruitless. Instead, I grabbed Adrian's hand and took him inside. We were told that our dressing areas had our change of clothes, and thankfully the outfit I got was comfortable. Celeste rushed in to help me get out of my dress and get the makeup off my face to replace it with a much lighter version. She hugged me quickly and darted out of the room before I could say thank you, so I sat down and put on the outfit that was chosen for me.
The clothes, being a simple pair of yoga pants and a silver-gray blouse with white flowers printed all over it, were easy enough for me to put on. I decided to put my boots back on since they were pretty comfortable and headed back out to the party. Adrian had gotten back out there much faster than me and was already making a fool of himself on the dance floor. The closer I got to the tent the easier it was for me to see the multiple video cameras up in the corners to capture the idiocy in 4K HD. I laughed to myself and continued to the table to sit next to my father.
"Thank you for all this, Dad," I said with a knowing smile. "I imagine it was pretty hard not to spill the beans."
"Oh, you have no idea just how hard it was, glowworm," he said back with a smile. "I guess because everyone else figured that part out as well they cut me out of most of the stuff to get this whole thing set up." I looked at him in surprise. I would never have thought they'd do something like that just to keep things secret, but I also knew what kind of man my father is. He would feel horrible as hell for not doing much of anything.
"But," he interrupted my inner thoughts, "I did get you one hell of a wedding gift."
"That reminds me," I said, "what about those wedding gifts? I mean everyone had access to that registry, but I didn't see any gifts sitting out."
"You'll get your gifts when you get back from your honeymoon," he grinned. "I have everything already planned out for the party when you return, so you'll have to wait to find out what's what. And don't you dare give me that pouty look you like to used against me when you know I have a secret and I'm not going to tell." I stowed the puppy eyes as soon as he admonished me and ended with a grin.
"You know me so well, Dad," I said while giving him a side hug.
"There is, however, one gift you'll get today," he said as he stood. "Its from all of us for you to take with you on your honeymoon, but you're not gonna get it until I get my father/bride dance."
"No need to bribe me, Dad," I said as I put my hand in his, stood from my seat and moved onto the dance floor to have our dance. As we took our places in the center of the floor, Michael queued up the song 'Father and Daughter' by Paul Simon, a song that had been in 'The Wild Thornberrys Movie', a movie that we had watched together on a day when I had snuck out while I was sick to his place. It brought smiles to our faces and tears to our eyes as we swayed back and forth in front of everyone. I looked nowhere else by at my father while he twirled me around the floor in our awkward side to side dance. Occasionally I heard him sing along with the tune, but his emotions kept grabbing at his throat and squeezing his windpipe closed as he choked on the tears falling down his face.
