Saturday rolled around rather quickly and we'd prepared for an evening cookout. We had the drinks and sides my dad asked us to bring as well as the games we'd chosen, dressing for cooler weather even though my dad's house had an enclosed sun room on the back. It was a little strange to see Adrian sitting about in a sweater, but I had to admit he looked rather handsome. The color he wore was a dark blue that seemed to make his hair and eyes glow against it, bringing out the beauty of them I saw from the moment our gazes met.

It struck me as we made our preparations to leave that in my time we have been together for three months, but our relationship actually spanned almost a year now. In my time I got engaged to him about three weeks after I'd broken up with that douche nozzle I used to be with...that was paid to be with me. And here I was with a man who wanted nothing more than to make the world know I was his and no one else could have me. Unbeknownst to me a wide smile appeared on my face while that feeling of belonging and happiness took root in my mind and heart.

"I don't know why you had to think on that," Adrian interrupted my thoughts, "but I love seeing you smile."

"I know its random to think of now," I admitted as I slipped on my shoes, "but it does sort of amaze me how our relationship came to be. If anyone else knew the literal lengths we've gone through to be together I'm certain they'd make some kind of sci-fi romance movie out of it."

"You're right," he said with his own grin. "And it would be a hell of a lot better than 'Twilight' could ever hope to be." I started laughing as soon as he finished his sentence.

"You're never gonna let that go, are you?"

"No, I'm not. It was a horrible set of movies that I can never regain the time it took to sit through. You are right in stating there were some parts that were pretty good. The vampire fight at the end with the werewolves and stuff was pretty good, but Aro's laugh sounded an awful lot like that fucked up clown thingy you have."

"What 'clown thingy' are you talking about?" I asked, genuinely confused.

"That little figure you have in the other room that laughs like its crazy," he said.

"You mean my little Hisoka?" I watched as Adrian's face shifted from confusion to recognition within a few moments.

"Yeah!" he said. "That creepy bastard. That smile he has on his face just makes me wonder if he gets up in the middle of the night to get way too close to my face." I laughed as I placed the bag of games in the back seat as Adrian put the small cooler with the food and drink we were bringing along into the other side of the car. We got into the front and put our seat belts on before I spoke.

"You leave my little Hisoka alone, Adrian. He's my favorite character from HunterxHunter."

"And now you have added yet another anime for you to show me," he responded from the passenger seat. "If you went so far as to buy a creepy figure and refuse to hide it, the anime must be pretty good."

"Oh, it is," I said. "I'll show you as soon as possible."

We spent the next few miles talking about the anime I wanted to show him and why I hadn't let him watch it already before my phone rang.

"Could you get my phone out of my bag and tack it to that stand on the dash?" I asked. Adrian shuffled through my bag for a moment before he completed the task. I quickly tapped the screen to answer and turn on the speakerphone function when I noticed it was Dad.

"Hey, Dad!" I said happily. "What's up?"

"Where are you right now, glowworm?" his voice came through the speaker,
