"Will you be able to forgive us?" Mother stood with her arms wide reaching for me and I, like a child with a skinned knee, ran into those arms and squeezed her tightly. I heard her own whimpering cries reaching my ears even as my tears dripped down to her shoulder. Her hand reached up to the back of my head and began stroking my hair while making soothing noises. As much as I wished to stop acting so, Y/N's emotions melded into my own and intensified those feelings of grief of loss and happiness of reunion. When I raised my head my father slipped beside me and gave me the hug I didn't know I needed from him.

"I'm sorry you had to wait, son," he said softly. "I know you didn't want to separate, but it was indeed necessary to keep the legend and history intact."

"I know, Father, but I cannot help my feelings," I said on a whimper of my own. "And we haven't even been separated from you for very long, though it feels far too long anyway."

"You have no idea how hard it was not to just come right out and tell you they were here," Allen said. "I have this problem keeping secrets and have a massive case of blurtitis. Ask Y/N. I bet she can't even count on both hands and feet how many holidays and birthdays I wrecked because I couldn't keep my mouth shut."

"Its true," she said, her eyes rolling. "This man has spoiled more Christmases and birthdays than I really care to count. Not to mention anniversaries, birth announcements. I could go on but I think you get the idea." When she finished, her laugh still ringing in the air, she joined me in hugging my parents. Her hug was short lived, however, as she then moved over to Allen and gave him a hug as well.

"Thank you for this, Dad," she said with a watery smile. "He's been so miserable these last few months, even though he's tried to mask his feelings from me. He doesn't realize that his thoughts aren't exactly hidden while he sleeps or that he talks in his sleep. Like a lot." Mother started to snicker.

"He does, doesn't he?" she giggled. "He's been doing that since he learned to talk."

"Its so cute!" Y/N said with a smile. "You know, you can talk to him while he's asleep."

"No way!"

"Oh yeah," Y/N snickered. "I had a whole conversation about what he prefers on his tacos, what movies we should get and once I even asked him to show me how to fight with a sword. He did all the motions and everything." By now, my mother was reduced to fits of laughter, her eyes alight with mirth. My father had even joined in with his own chuckles.

"I'm so pleased to know you are having fun at my expense," I said with a smirk, "but you're not exactly a princess while you sleep."

"Oh, I know," Y/N said with a chuckle. "I fart a lot. Like if the bed sheets weren't tucked in at the bottom of the bed, they'd fucking float."

"Oh my god!" my mother said with a cry of laughter. My father, on the other hand, spit his drink out and coughed a few times while trying to hold in his laugh. He didn't succeed, though, which was a relief considering I wanted to laugh because it was totally true.

"And we can't forget the occasional snorts in my sleep. Had that problem when I was a kid."

"Oh yeah," Allen said. "From that fight at school, wasn't it?"

"You got into a fight at school?" Mom was truly baffled at this point.

"Yeah. It was when I was younger and actually still liked my sister," Y/N sighed. "A few of the kids from my class were picking on Ellie, taking her stuffed animal and making her cry. One of the kids even went so far as to hit her so hard she had bruises. Ellie was so scared she peed her pants, which of course set the bullies right back on her like Tennessee on an overturned Twinkie truck. Before I'd managed to get over to her, though, one of the bullies cut off one of her pigtails and was threatening to do the same to the other side."
