Alucard P.O.V.
I knew my parents were up to something. The secret glances, the smiles, the fact that they'd disappear for hours at a time at odd times during the day. And the endless giggles from my mother as she wandered from room to room. There's the clipboard she carries with her all the time, too. The whole situation is driving me nuts, but I know if I ask they'd just lie to me or avoid the question by bringing up something else. The fact that they'd been doing this for almost a month was bothering me. I'd swear it was like they were planning a surprise like they did when I was a child and bought me my first pony...
THEY'RE PLANNING A SURPRISE! Oh! How could I have been so stupid! I should have known they'd do something like this, but I had no idea they'd get everyone in on it. The Belmonts were aiding them as well as Gregory and Michael, so it could be anything. And as much as I wanted to know, I figured out they wouldn't tell me for fear that Y/N would know as well. I still haven't managed to keep all of my damn thoughts to myself, which has been problematic for various reasons, so there's no way I could ask them to let me in on the secret.
"What's on your mind, love?" my mother's voice broke into my thoughts.
"I was wondering what kind of surprise I could plan for Y/N tonight," I said. "By my calculations, if you account for the time difference, today is our anniversary."
"Anniversary?" Mother asked, her head tilted to the side.
"Yeah. The anniversary of the date we got together." As soon as this left my lips, Mother began bouncing around happily.
"I must get Celeste and Gregory! They'd be able to help!" And before I could say anything more, she flew from the room. I could hear her in the hall talking to Celeste excitedly at the same time as the clicking noises from her phone's keyboard was going off.
"Is he coming?" I heard my sister down the hall.
"No," Mother replied. "He isn't feeling all that well after some Tandoori Chicken he had last night, so he will definitely not join us."
"I warned him about that Indian place! Why does no one listen to me?"
"Perhaps they're unable to with the amount of volume you use?"
"I don't talk that loud, do I?"
"My sweet, lovely, wonderful, perfect daughter. I believe the peoples of Neptune have heard you." I snickered to myself as my sister stomped and complained, loudly mind you, to Mother. I could hear the laughter and complaining getting closer so I sat down on the couch with my phone out.
I had been thinking of ordering something for dinner, setting the table with candles and a good bottle of wine, romantic music or perhaps a movie and the two of us just having a night in alone. It had been so long since we had a night where the two of us just spent time touching each other's hands or anything remotely close to romantic that this occasion was enough for me to give us that night.
"So," my father's voice broke into my thoughts, "you're planning a celebration tonight?"
"I thought it would be nice," I said. "I know Y/N and I are alone a lot since you guys live nearby, but I wanted to plan something romantic for the both of us and thought that just a romantic night in would be just the trick to get her mind off the wedding prep for a bit."
"As long as you don't order Tandoori Chicken from that new Indian restaurant you should be fine," Celeste chimed in.
"I have just the thing for you, son," Allen burst in with a smile. "I have this place that serves the best steak fajitas around. I can order them to be sent to your place for dinner."
