I looked on as the mirror itself seemed to seal together at the broken seams, but there were four pieces that remained in the case as if they weren't part of the completed structure. At first it appeared that they weren't of the mirror, like they'd been mistakenly put in the case along with the others, but upon closer inspection I could see that they reflected whatever was in front of the larger mirror rather than the ceiling above.

"I have an idea about this," I said, "but I need to read the rest of the book before I just hurry up and send us to my time."

"Why wait?" Trevor prodded. "Its not like we have to make an appointment or something."

"Because if I fuck it up, we could end up in the place where I live but in a different time altogether, ass. My luck would be to open up to (home country) and end up in 10,000 B.C. or something," I said. "We'd be there just in time to see what dinosaurs were there before a fucking ice age hit, or right before a massive asteroid came smashing down to obliterate everything."

After saying all that, I suddenly started to smirk at myself. Coming to mind was the movie Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure when they ended up going back too far in time to San Dimas, 1,000,000 B.C. 'No pudding cups or bubble gum will help us this time' I thought with a chuckle. Of course, as soon as I'd thought it, Adrian's head came whipping around to look at me like I'd gone stone cold crazy and only made me want to laugh even harder.

"Just remember," Sypha began, "this time, don't let the pressure to get this right get to you. You can tell us your issues and we'll help any way we can."

"She has a point," Trevor added. "We may not have answers worth a fuck, but at least we can tell you when you've pushed yourself too far and need to take a break." The others nodded at his sentiment. I couldn't begin to imagine how worried they'd been before, so I nodded in return.

"I promise I won't let myself go so far down the shitter this time. It shouldn't be that difficult to work out because I knew the mirror was broken to begin with." I just sat back and waited.

"Knowing that ahead of time would have been a good thing, huh?" - Trevor

"So, should we blame Sypha for breaking it again?" - Adrian

"I did not break it, dammit!" -Sypha

"Of course you did. Just admit it and you'll feel better." - Trevor

"I didn't break it!" - Sypha

"You most certainly did break it. Granted, you used a spell to help break it, but you were the one who broke it." - Adrian

"Fine! I broke it!" - Sypha

"Finally! She admits it!" - Trevor and Adrian

While they bickered back and forth, I spoke the words once again and watched as the mirror gently tinkled back into the case. I knew I'd have to go back to Dracula's study to find the book I had seen before that told of how the mirror itself worked, but that could definitely wait until the next day. Tonight, we will just have something to eat and maybe watch a movie before bed. When I turned around to get things ready for dinner, I saw Trevor and Sypha swatting at each other's hands like little kids do when they fight over toys and noticed that Adrian seemed to stay as far away from the scuffle as he could while laughing at their antics. I myself found it equally difficult not to laugh while the pair giggled and cursed each other for being silly.

I attracted Adrian's attention to help me get things set out for dinner and make sure that we had some wine or tea to drink. He smiled as he walked up beside me and kissed my temple, a blush riding up his face the whole time. Considering that he and I had done much more than that already, I couldn't help but chuckle softly while I got the steamer basket with the cabbage rolls off the boiling pot of water and placed them on the table.
