After dinner, I thought it would be nice if we watched a movie to keep all of us together for a little bit longer. Frankly, being in that damn room any longer than I had to was a pain in the butt, however, I knew why everyone was so concerned. After all, I was pretty much in a coma for three days, but that didn't mean that I wanted to hurry back to the bedroom just to start all over again.
I directed everyone on how to set up the things we'd need to watch the movie because Sypha was adamant that everything be set up exactly as it had been the first time with the difference being me up on the couch this time. Watching everyone fight through the set up gave me a bit of a giggle since it took about as much time for the three of them to set everything up as it did for me to do it all myself.
It wasn't long before everything was setup and I was making the selection for our movie night. This time we didn't have the snacks I had before, but we were still having fun. Everyone else went about making sure the candles were blown out as it was before, but this time the couch was shifted so that I was looking down toward my feet rather than twisting my neck to the side. Trevor, being the dork that he is, decided to make sure the back of the couch faced Sypha and himself thus providing Adrian and me some semblance of privacy. While I thought that this was sweet, I could almost hear the schoolboy giggles that would eventually ensue from the other side of the room. Rolling my eyes, I prepared to get settled in.
"Here," Adrian said from behind me, "Lean back and grab your blanket." He was smiling broadly with his arms spread wide. One leg was stretched out along the back of the couch with his other foot firmly planted on the floor. He also had a couple of pillows propping himself up so that he'd be able to see the movie as well, thereby propping my head up to see without straining my neck. Once we'd gotten comfortable, I started the movie.
Because I thought it would be funny, and recalling what Adrian said about showing an animated movie, I put on the movie Abominable. Cutesy kids movie, I know, but I loved it all the same because of how adorable the yeti was and the overall message of respecting nature for what it is and what secrets it may hold. And, while I couldn't see them, I could hear Trevor laughing at the funny parts, and Sypha crying during the sad parts. I wouldn't say it to his face, but I'm sure I even heard Trevor sniffle a couple of times as well.
The whole time the movie played, Adrian was either playing with my hair, playing with my hands or rubbing my shoulders. Occasionally he would stop to hug me close to him or kiss my head, whether it was the top of my head or my temples, but all of his movements brought a light dusting of pink to my cheeks. I could feel the warmth of my blushes riding up my neck to my face and out to the tips of my ears. What made it all that more distracting was the fact that I could hear Adrian behind me chuckle when he noticed the reactions I gave. His whole chest would resonate with his mirth, deep vibrations rolling through him like the tide. My body would shake along with every one, and I was finding it hard to be upset with him because I knew he wasn't laughing for vicious reasons.
"Stop it," I whispered to him knowing full well that he heard me. He would just chuckle harder.
At one point he snorted with laughter, leaned down to my ear and whispered, "Why would I want to do that when your reactions are so much fun?" I ended up slapping his thigh playfully and giggling a bit myself. It felt good to know he was happy and having so much fun, especially in light of what he'd been through. And especially knowing that he'd reacted so badly while I was asleep.
"Will you promise me something, Adrian?" I asked quietly.
"What's that?" he asked. I could hear the trepidation in his voice.
